The g Hotel & Spa in Galway City has a strong connection with our local community and we work with a number of partners each year through charity fundraising and sponsorship.
We currently sponsor the official Best Dressed competitions on Ladies Day of the Galway Races with the g Hotel Best Dressed Lady and g Hotel Best Hat winning a fantastic €15,000 combined prize. For more details see our Galway Races Best Dressed Lady page.
Each year we select a number of charity partners. There are so many wonderful causes and we focus our efforts on local community first and foremost. Through the partnership with the g Hotel & Spa, our chosen charities will work closely with our team to host events at the g to help raise much needed funds for the charities in Galway, while also helping to build awareness and support. This year we have partnered with Rosabel's Rooms with an event held in March - Rosabel’s Rooms was set up in January 2018 by local couple Gary Monroe and Suzanne McClean in collaboration with The Irish Hospice Foundation, following the sudden and unexplained death of their beautiful daughter Rosabel, aged sixteen months in April 2017. Rosabel's Rooms will raise important funds for the provision of dedicated family-focused bereavement suites in hospitals around Ireland as well as clinical psychological support following the loss of your loved one. University Hospital Galway has already committed to setting up the very first Rosabel’s Room and are currently working on the details as part of their planned Emergency Unit upgrade as well as a more immediate solution. In 2018 we will also work with Breast Cancer Research to host an event in October. We are supporting Network Galway for this annual Business Woman of the Year awards which will fundraise for Jigsaw Galway on the night. In 2017 we worked with the Irish Injured Jockeys to host an event during Galway Raceweek and raised €10,000 with the help of many generous attendees, prize supporters and the wonderful Hector Ó hEochagáin. In the past we have supported Galway Hospice, Croi, Simon, COPE Galway, Irish Autism Action, Console and the National Breast Cancer Research Institute [NBCRI]
