Tues 4th October 2016 - Lunchtime at The Library

Always on the first Tuesday of each month at 1.10pm in St Nicholas Collegiate Church in the centre of Galway city - classical music from the Galway Ensemble in Residence, ConTempo Quartet string quartet.

Fri 5th & Sun 8th October 2017 - Clarenbridge Oyster Festival

Great food, great Guinness, great music and entertainment all in a splendid marquee on the banks of the Claren River which flows through the village of Clarenbridge on the edge of Galway Bay.

Sat 7th October 2017 - Galway Bay Half Marathon & 10K

Participants can choose from a half marathon (13.1 miles) or a 10k run/walk along a fast, flat, fun and scenic route which starts and finishes along Galway’s famous coast line on the edge of the city and the Bay.

Fri 5th - Sun 8th October 2017 - Galway Jazz Festival

Shows will be held in An Taibhdhearc, Druid Theatre, The Black Cat in Salthill, the Hotel Meyrick, Electric as well as public spaces around the city.

Mon 9th & Tues 10th October 2017 - Food on the Edge

Food on the Edge is a two day symposium for chefs & food enthusiasts from all around the world. It is a coming together of chefs to listen, talk, debate and network over two days in Galway. Open to the public by advance ticket purchase.

Mon 16th - Sun 22nd October 2017 Baboró International Arts Festival for Children

The premier international arts festival for children and families, in Ireland. Taking place over 7 days with Theatre, Dance, Literature, Music, Puppetry, Workshops and Visual Art for all ages.

Sun 22nd - Mon 30th October 2017 - Conamara Sea Week

Takes place in the the village of Letterfrack which is the focal point of the festival at the base of Diamond Hill in Connemara National Park. Letterfrack is next to Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Gardens. The festival celebrates local Connemara marine heritage along with music and family activities.

Tues 24th - Mon 30th October 2017 - Vodafone Comedy Carnival Galway

A major event on the comedy circuit in Ireland which attracts big international names to Galway. A full programme with several shows each day and night, comedy for children and lunchtime laughs.

Fri 27th Ocober 2017 - Connacht Rugby v Munster Rugby @ 19.35hrs

A much awaited annual clash of the Irish provinces Connacht Rugby v Munster  in The Sportsground as part of the Guinness Pro14.

A family Halloween evening with fancy dress, ghostly games, wonderful storytelling and a special Halloween bonfire with the Púca. Suitable for all ages.

If you fancy some great racing and great fun, then this is the place to be. Free car parking, Free entry for children under 14, Free racecard draw each day, big screen, bar and restaurant facilities just €15 per adult.
