31st July - 6th Aug 2017 - Galway Races Summer Festival Meeting

Ireland's premier horse racing festival. Adrenalin-pumping action, heart-stopping finishes and breath-taking fashion, you are at the Galway Races. Situated on the outskirts of Galway city, in the West of Ireland, the Galway Race Festivals are world renowned. The g Hotel & Spa is the official sponsor of the Ladies Day 'Best DRessed Lady' and 'Best Hat' competitions at the racecourse. Each evening, following the day of racing, the g Hotel also hosts a series of after parties with live music, jdelicious dining and kicking cocktails

Sat 12th August 2017 - Streets of Galway 8k Road Race

Starts at 7pm and features more than 3000 entrants. An enjoyable run that winds way through the Galway city streets and out around Salthill, along the prom to the finish in The Claddagh.

Sat 5th & Sun 6th Aug 2017 - Ros a Mhil (Rossaveal) Regatta

Sailing Regatta with traditional Irish boats including currachs and Galway Hookers historically used on Galway Bay and Connemara.

11th - 20th August 2017 - Galway Pride Festival

Galway Pride  highlights the great variety of people that make Galway such a vibrant and exciting place to live and visit. Events throughout the week will include evenings of information and awareness, arts and performance, music nights and the colourful parade on Saturday.

13th - 21st August 2017 - Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Ennis

This is Ireland's national festival and celebration of traditional Irish music - the equivalent of the Olympics for Irish music. The week long event will be held in Ennis - just 1 hour from Galway. Participants compete against fellow musicians, singers and dancers to achieve the recognition of being an All-Ireland champion.

15th - 20th August 2017 - Connemara Pony Festival

The annual Connemara Pony Festival & Show in Clifden, Co Galway attracts visitors from all over the world. Ponies compete in in-hand classes, ridden classes, working hunter classes, and a puissance (or high jump) competition. For non-pony enthusiasts, there is a dog show, a domestic arts show and Irish Dancing.

18th - 20th August 2016 - Cruinniu na mBad Festival, Kinvara

A magnificent display of traditional Irish boats including the Galway Hookers as over 100 boats gather for a weekend of racing and celebration at Cruinniú na mBád (Gathering of the Boats) festival in Kinvara just 30 minutes from the g Hotel & Spa.

19th August - Super Milk Wild Air Run

Taking place at Galway Racecourse this is a sporting experience not to be missed. The run involves climbing up, sliding down, bouncing and jumping your way along a 5km inflatable obstacle course which includes a 60 Metre Long Inflatable Water Slide!! People from 7 years to 70+ and of all fitness levels can enjoy Ireland’s biggest inflatable obstacle course.

19th - 27th August 2017 - Galway Heritage Week

Galway’s rich heritage is set to be celebrated in a range of events across the city and county as part of National Heritage Week. Over 100 different events are planned from Ballinasloe to Inishbofin and will take in everything from genealogy workshops to talks on the history of the Connemara pony.
