September sees the return of the Connacht Rugby season with both European clashes and the new Guinness PRO14 series kicking off on Saturday 2nd and Saturday 9th September. Soak up the atmosphere of the Sportsground and join in the post-match celebrations in one of our many Galway pubs.  The Galway Races Autumn meeting takes place on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th September with racing starting at 2.25pm each day. The September race meeting is always popular due to its relaxed atmosphere with excellent facilities and great racing. The oldest oyster festival in the world takes place from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th September with the marquee based at The Claddagh, one of Galway's oldest areas with views of the Spanish Arch and colourful Long Walk.
